Love & Security Amidst Uncertainty

You may wonder what an article like this has to do with beautiful plants and flowers. Although seeing the beauty of nature and growing things does give a certain sense of serenety amidst the chaos around us, it is only temporal. The effect can be overturned with a personal tragedy or a crash in the stock market or simply an overwhelming sense of loneliness that even immersing yourself in the garden work can't push out of your mind.

That's when you really feel the need for a higher goal, greater security, and a friend that will never fail you, regardless of your situation. To some, the idea of God may just bring to your mind stifling rules and regulations or the image of a monk secluded in a monastary copying ancient texts. But God truly loves every individual and is not focused on "religion" but wants to provide the friendship and security and a sense of purpose that no earthly person or possession can give.

In times of political, financial, and/or personal uncertainty, the one certainty is that God is still in control, and He loves every person, regardless of status, race, or background. The Bible teaches that “Jesus Christ [is] the same yesterday, and today, and forever.” (Heb 13:8) Although you may not know what will happen tomorrow, God's love and promises are certain, and a joyful eternity with Him can also be certain. The following truths from God's Word show how to have this certainty:

God Loves You

“...God is love...” (1 John 4:8)

“For God so loved the world, that He gave His Only Begotten Son..." (John 3:16a)

God is Holy and cannot allow sin in His presence

“...Thou only art holy...” (Rev 15:4)

“...God is light, and in Him is no darkness at all." (1 John 1:5)

“...All have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” (Rom 3:23)

Sin has a price that must be paid

“For the wages of sin is death...” (Rom 6:23a)

Jesus paid that price!

“...The gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord” (Rom 6:23b)

“Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us, and sent His Son to be the propitiation [satisfying payment] for our sins” (1 John 4:10)

“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” (Rom 5:8)

Nothing we do can earn eternal life

“Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to Hismercy He saved us...” (Titus 3:5)

Eternal Life can be yours - Believe and Ask

“...Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou thalt be saved...”(Acts 16:31)

“...Whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved” (Rom10:13)

If you call on Jesus Christ and trust in Him alone, God promises with certainty that you will have eternal life with Him!
